Our Castle Park
The Weitenburg Castle Park was established in the second half of the 19th century from a former fallow deer enclosure. The great-grandfather of the current castle lord had an English-style landscape park laid out, with the centerpiece being the large water basin.
In the 1920s, parts of the park were redesigned in the so-called Reform style by the Stuttgart garden architect Albert Lilienfein, incorporating rock gardens and rose terraces. They were largely removed in the 1960s. Since 2017, the park has been recreated according to historical plans, featuring a network of paths, benches, and sightlines, and has been accessible to the public since 2020.
